- Seek feedback and support from others who share your views. On your own, it can be hard to chase greatness without compromising your values.
Chasing success without compromising your virtues is not easy but possible and rewarding. As a start, by following these steps, you can pursue success in a way that honors your values and enhances your character.

Often, you may face challenges and temptations that test your discipline toward your approach. For example, you may be tempted to cheat, use performance-enhancing drugs, lie, or disrespect your opponents or teammates. You may also face pressure from coaches, peers, sponsors, fans, and sometimes even family members to do things you disagree with or potentially harm your well-being.
How can you overcome these challenges and stay true to yourself and your sport? Here are some tips:
– Know your values and why they matter to you. Write them down and put them in a place where you can see and review them regularly. Remind yourself of the benefits of living by your beliefs, such as feeling proud, confident, happy, and fulfilled.

Celebrate them in ways that are consistent with your well-defined character. Make necessary changes where and when you can rather than dwelling on your shortcomings or blaming others.

She has overcome many adversities in her career, such as injuries, criticism, racism, and sexism. She has supported causes she cares about, such as mental health awareness and Black Lives Matter. She once said: “Before I am an athlete, I am a black woman.”
Many fail to stand firm against temptation, but as the above example shows, it is not impossible.
One of my favorite verses in scripture is Mark 9:23, which says: “What do you mean, ‘If I can’? Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark 9:23 NLT
